Installation Help Installation Q&A
You installed a new
module, and you didn't get the popup asking to add it to the current
layout.
To install THEWORD (hereafter referred to as "TW") you need to download the English installation package. This is found on this page... http://www.theword.gr/index.php?article.download For those of you with e-Sword modules that you would like to use with TW, if they are unlocked, you can download Costas' importer utility and convert them to TW. TWImporter Utility : http://www.theword.gr/index.php?article.tools&l=english This importer program will import from Zefania XML, the Unbound Bible, and several other formats. The Module Add-on Library is found here: http://www.theword.gr/index.php?downloads.modules&l=english More Modules for TheWord? On the left hand column of the pages on this site you will find theLibrary Downloads, and from there you can download my modules to use with TW. You can also look into the TheWord forums for mention of modules that are available for downloads in other places. Where does TheWord keep its modules? There is a quick and nice way to find out. TW will tell you where it is currently keeping all of its modules. (If you clicked "Yes" to Run TW in the single folder memory stick install, you need to cancel and close it. Then run it from your desktop.) Run TW, click on Help, and the About. On the Help dialog box that pops up, click on the last tab, "File Locations".
Here all of your modules should be in either "Personal files folder:" "Common modules folder." or the "Main executable file" (which is not where any modules should really reside. If you are looking for a particular module location, scroll the "All used files" to find it (double click to open a Windows Explorer window to it).
Costas (the program designer) recommends that you use Tahoma as the default font, and for Greek, the Gentium, and for Hebrew Cardo. These fonts are in the main download package. Finding and installing modules (Books, Dictionaries, and Commentaries) Go here theWord Module Download Library and download what Costas has on his website as far as modules. Installation changes and notes for non-XP 32 bit machines In other language versions of Windows XP, the folders and directories where TW will keep its files may be slightly different. An XP 64 bit user writes that his installation directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\The Word (including the parentheses).
