How to Create a Book Module
|
It is possible to install TW to a memory stick to use in somebody else's computer. (This is also useful to use in a specialized situation where you don't want to mix one set of books with another, for example in my case, I work in English and Spanish, so I keep two installations of THEWORD, one regular in English, and Flash installation in a separate folder for my Spanish work.) Download the latest version from the forums page (see here Installation of TW), and in the following dialog box, choose these options I have selected.
This will be a clean installation to this folder with nothing written anywhere else except this folder. You can make this folder on your hard drive or directly on a flash drive. Completing the Flash Memory Installation When you run TW you will get an error, because you have no modules nor Bibles installed. So don't run it yet.
You can do this either of two ways. You can download some Bibles from Costas' TW Bible Download page, my TW Bible Download page, or you can copy them from your own hard disk installation of TW. Where does TW keep its modules? Copy what you want to this folder, and remember that you will need to exit TW before copying, and start it fresh once you have copied your files here. Before you do too much copying, I would warn you that TW has a thing called layouts, and it is better to open a layout, and then close down the program, copy the modules of that layout, and when you open it, they will be added to the current layout. That is a helpful tip to organizing quickly your modules into groups. See layouts, adding modules for step by step instructions.
