TheWord program is property of Costas Stergiou www.theword.gr
This website and modules by Pastor-Missionary David Cox
(Costas and I have no relationship other than I make modules in his program)

If you download a module, God bless you, use it for the Lord. If you download a dozen, why not help us keep this going? If you download almost everything, don't be so stingy, we aren't!
Donate something! $5, $10 dollars, something.

January 5, 2011
I am still getting things together, and this is a slow process because of my work load from preaching (4-5 times per week and working with the youth department on their material for the young people). Anyway, I am trying to get my capacity to make TW installor exes again, and I am not there yet. I have a great number of modules that I made while in the US, and the count is up to about 1200 modules now. This grows every week. But I cannot post them yet because of installation problems. You just cannot copy them to your hard disk under most Windows versions. So if you want to use them, you will have to make a USB TheWord installation, and copy them there.

Creating Chapter Headings

To Those Interested In Making Their Own Chapter Headings:

Did you notice in the importer a tab named "Chapter headings"? This tag
allows you to create your own headings in a simple text file and then the
importer will convert it to a usable sqlite file.

The whole process takes three basic steps: (1) Creating your heading's file,
with the proper formatting, (2) importing the file through the importer
program, and (3) setting the proper options in the Bible program.

First, create your own text file. Use NotePad to write your text file. The
following format gives you the proper formatting:

1;1;1;This is my heading for Gen 1:1
2;1;1;This is my heading for Exodus 1;1
40;3;5;This is my heading for Math. 3:5

You can start with any number of headings. The numbering tells the program
where to place the headings. For instance, "1;1;1;This is my heading for Gen
1:1" is the heading for Genesis chapter one verse one. Save the file. Call
it whatever you want, such as "Headings." I suggest placing your newly
created text file in The Word directory, since the final file must be in The
Word directory.

Secondly, importing the text file: Now that you have the text file, start
the importer and click on the "Chapter headings" tab at the top. A dialog
box will appear. In the dialog box, click the button "Browse (utf8 text or
xml file)..." Browse your files until you find the text file you created. In
this case, we named it "Headings.txt." The second button may be ignored
since you formatted your text file as described. The third button allows you
to rename your text file when it is converted into a SQL file. Name it as
you like. "My Headings" works great.

The third step is in the TheWord program. Open TheWord. At the top, click on
"Tools," click "Bible view options," click "Paragraphs and headings." Take
note of the bottom third of the dialog box where it reads, "Chapter
headings." Click "Show chapter headings." This allows you to pick "Always
use 'Alternate headings':" When you pick this option, it allows you to
choose which alternate headings you want. In this case, we want "My
Headings" (unless you named it differently). The drop down menu will give
you all choices that may be found in the TheWord directory. Click apply,
click OK.

Verify your work in the Bible view by going to the Bible reference that
includes your heading; that is, Genesis 1:1. You should be able to see your
heading. If not, press the "H" key.
