Dear praying friends,

I just wanted to give you a brief update of events over this past week. We had a meal Friday and baptisms. Most people are off from work all this week, so half of our church went out of town. We decided to have it anyway, and Roberto had about 5 from Pachuca Mission to be baptized and we had about 5 also in our church. Well, only 1 from Pachuca came, and she wasn't one needing baptism. We did have baptisms and baptized 6 people in the end, and still have about 5-6 needing baptism from our own church that have gotten saved and are starting to come.

We decided not to invite people a lot of people and just make it "home folk". We usually are running between 30-40 on Sundays now, but to our surprise several invited their parents and brothers and sisters and we had about 70 some in the meal Friday. Today Sunday we had half our people still out and still had about 40 some. 10 kids, only 3 regulars. So God continues to bless us.

We would ask that you pray especially hard for our people. Several have disasters of lives, and divorce is immient in several cases. Many are out of work or their jobs are not sufficient for them to survive. Many are single Christians that need Christian mates, and we do have single guys and girls but not "sparks" anywhere to be seen.

Please pray as we see people getting saved and many are starting discipleship programs/Bible studies with one of our evangelism team. Some of these have been met with adversity as unsaved husbands have stopped them, and opposed them. In one case, we had that husband come to the meal Friday and get saved. Two got saved Friday in the meal.

Please pray for our economic situation. We are fully supporting Roberto as assistant pastor. He works with our church, but preaches in the mission in Pachuca on Sunday mornings. They are all retired and barely cover his gas money out there. It is taking all of our offerings to pay him $120 a week. We have another man that is very faithful and is about to lose his job. He was a bus driver of a private school, and was assaulted and they hit him in his eye, and he lost part of his sight. They are taking him off of driving and will probably fire him even though he was on the school route at the time. We are wanting to take him on as a church worker also, but the funds are just not there. We are praying that God will bring us more faithful people who will tithe faithfully and sacrifically. We are also facing probably starting to pay rent this summer on top of that. Please pray that God will send us faithful people to our church here who will sacrificially and faithfully tithe to support our work. We want our finances to come from this side of the border, not from the US. Please pray for us also as we have week after week of extra expenses.

Our vehicle was literally falling apart, with problems in the radiator, transmission, engine, electrical system, A/C system, and tires. I paid to fix them and the problems came back constantly. I got tired of this and so we went to the border the week before Easter and bought a "new" 2000 Dodge Caravan and traded in our old vehicle. I had to put it on my credit card because we cannot get a bank loan and cross the border with a vehicle that has a bank loan. We are in debt and are hoping to get out of this debt by year's end if possible. Please pray for us. We also are having to help Roberto financially suplimenting his income went he has financial problems. Please pray for us that God would provide for our needs.

In Christ,
David Cox
