March 2008 Missionary Prayer Letter David & Tule
Cox
tech arroba davidcox.com.mx Dear praying friends, Our church people continue to have attacks from Satan. It is discouraging as a pastor to see our people have conflicts one with another and distance themselves from the Lord. We have 4 families that are not coming because of conflict with other members. We also have several other families that are not coming because of the “busyness of life.” If all would come, we would have around 70-80 people (which we had 75 at the Christmas meal and program). Please pray for these families in conflict, especially for Raul and Eufemia, Claudia and Carlos, Mary Eugenia and Marcelo, and Juan Jose. But we are glad to see every month that we have one or two new families visit us, and some stay. We have people spending 2 hours transit time just to come to church. We have even had new people come from seeing our website. Pray for several new believers and visitors that need to grow spiritually. Likewise I continue preaching every week 4 times, Saturday visitation with several of our church members, and working on putting good religious reference books into e-Sword and pdf formats and uploading them to our website. I am still writing about 1 book per month (in Spanish) and putting them on my website. People continue to download these things like crazy. I get a lot of email from people thanking me, asking for help, or making suggestions. We continue to get mail and make contact with people around the world from our website both from English speaking countries, Spanish, and others. Many emails thank me for my website, which is done more of a resource for my books and my own sermons than for other people. We have more than a thousand religious books now online in one form or another, and it continues to grow. I am starting to work in putting this stuff in Palm OS and Pocket PC formats. Everything is free. This month I started working the Spanish translation of the free Bible program e-Sword.net. Rick Meyers, the program creator, has asked me to help him with the Spanish part of it. Lord willing that will be ready by summer or this year sometime. As of July 2007, e-Sword has been downloaded 6 million times, some 30% of users are Spanish speakers. This Spanish version will be a great blessing to many people. I would ask for your prayers for our evangelism efforts as our church people come and go in this activity, and right now several of our good soulwinners are now having Saturday work obligations, and won’t be coming for a few months. I also continue to have health problems with my diabetes, and at times it is very difficult to be in the tropical sun for a couple of hours in the street witnessing to people. I still lead the group Saturdays, but as the years wear on, and I feel it more and more. I would ask for your prayers for our financial support situation. We continue to battle the eroding power of the dollar before the peso. In the past 5 years, the US dollar has declined 35-50% against all other currencies. We feel that heavily. Also we have a gradual support slip as some churches lower or drop our support, and our work is not at the place where we can leave it to go back to the states to do more deputation work. Please pray for our support. In Christ,
