Our Needs

Page Summary: This page describes things that you or your church missions society
can gather and send us that we can use.

(missionary David and Tule Cox in Mexico City)
Next trip to Texas: Fall 2005 or 2006
please give it an extra 3-4 non-holiday weekdays days to arrive in South Texas

Ladies Mission Society Stuff

Things that can be collected in Ladies Mission Society groups. We want small stuff, easy to carry that we cannot get so easily down here.

bulletItalian Spice mix for salad dressing (the kind you mix with vinegar and water and oil) we use this in cooking.
bulletprepackaged, no refrigeration pepperoni packages.
bulletJello pie mixes (we use them for church socials, so regular is fine, not low sugar)
bulletBrownie mixes
bulletThank you notes
bulletStandard US postage stamps (for normal letters)
bulletBlank CD-R, 48x or 52x., Blank DVDs
bullet Canned hams (that needs no refrigeration), $2 at Dollar General and similar stores.
bulletSpam
bulletChristian Films in Spanish: We already have the following films in Spanish:
Martin Luther, Catholicism, Mormons, and Pilgrims Progress. I prefer doctrinal or historical orientation films. Such as things that explain and reveal the truth about cults or false religions. If you can only find one of the ones above, that is okay also because several people can view them if we have multiple copies.
bullet Blank bulletins that can be printed with our information in Spanish. Most churches buy these in large lots. We need them un-printed (nothing on the inside or back, just a pretty picture on the front cover) please so that we can print and use them in our services. We print up 20-30 at a time, but even left-overs that are less than 20 we could use.

Our Family

  • Our kids: Kelsie (born Jan 20 1995) and Russ (Oct 10, 1996)

Kelsie - She likes Barbies (especially Barbie clothes), and computer games. She likes playing with toys and reading. Bracelets and those bracelets you can make would be nice. Kelsie is growing taller every day, so new clothes would be especially welcome. (We have a moderate climate with "cool weather" for us being down around 40-50's. We do have a lot of wet weather some years, so wind breakers, some sweaters, and such are welcomed.)

Russ - He likes GI Joes, cars (especially matchbox, and ones the GI Joes can fit in), planes and ships and war type stuff (but not so much guns and things), Leggos. He likes SpongeBob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron, Mucha Lucha, etc. Books for young people would be really good. He loves computer games also. Russ is also growing but is very thin and still small for his age. We still are having to replace his clothes periodically because nothing fits.

VHS tapes (or DVD / VCD) of things off of cable, like Discovery channel specials on animals, nature, countries, historical events, and such, History channel shows about wars, weapons, etc. (Russ and I like those kinds of things) or big machines, or the way things work, etc. I would also like some of the old 50-70's classics shows like "Leave it to Beaver", "Gilligan's Island", "Wild, Wild West", or others like that that are clean shows. We prefer very little violence, blood & guts, and of course nothing inappropriate. We have VHS and a DVD player. I like the old movies like John Wayne, and the classic 60-70's type things that were cleaner than the things today, like Father Goose, Doris Day, old World War II movies, etc. I do watch some more modern stuff when I have time, but not much.

Tule - Please no perfumes, she is allergic to a lot of things, and the smell of perfume doesn't do her any good. She likes clothes, especially dressy kind of things. She is medium or size 12. Kitchen stuff we are pretty much overflowing, so no kitchen things. Tule likes pretty jewelry.

David - My greatest wish is for health and happiness, provision and peace. Thanks!

How to send these things to us

It is best to send packages to our Texas address. We have to pay import duty on packages received here, and usually it is 30% of its declared value. Some things they will just not allow into the country. We go to Texas usually twice or more a year to do various things that have to be done there. Please email me before sending anything to let me know what is coming and where it is coming to.

To send a package to us, please follow this link http://davidcox.com.mx/personal_information.htm#packages.
