The Importance of Doctrine and True Biblical Concept of Love
Perhaps the greatest problem with the majority of Fundamentalists is that
they have missed the enter point of separation. We are separate from sin,
and those who refuse to fight against sin in order to maintain our
particular purity and faithfulness to God. Without biblical unity,
separation is being contentious and ornery. See my
article on not being contentious.
61.01.05 Apostasy
An apostate is simply someone who has entered into Christianity in a
meaningful way (as a Christian, and/or has achieved advancement to the point
of being a teacher, preacher, pastor, or leader in Christianity, and then
has fully renounced all forms of Christianity as being undesirable (to him),
incorrect, and this person has fully rejected Christianity and Christ as his
Savior. The essential elements for a person to be an apostate is that they
must have first embraced Christianity after having supposedly understood it,
and then to reject it totally. The idea of totally is perhaps too strong in
some cases, because for example a protestant minister who rejects the
protestant position and goes into Catholicism is also considered an
apostate. The idea is to go over to the enemy.
61.02 History of movements
Overview: From biblical times God has wanted His people to be holy and
separate from sin like He is. Satan has pushed God's people into unholy
relationships that has greatly displeased God. This tension has never
ceased, and continues in our day as it has in all of past history that we
have to study.

explanation by David Cox of the positions and movements of Liberalism,
Orthodoxy, Neo-Orthodoxy, Evangelicals, Neo-Evangelicals, Ecumenicalists,
and Fundamentalists.

Fundamentalism is not exactly the same as the other categories on this
page, and it is perhaps out of place here. Fundamentalism is a dedication
and devotion to the essentials of Christianity, and one of those essentials
is separation from what is not faithful and true to Christianity. The
rejection of these doctrines, practices, and the people who hold them and
promote these unscriptural positions and doctrines is at the heart of being
a fundamentalist.

Warnings for the Heart (10 sets of Devotionals for Bible students)
Separation comes from the Bible's teaching on the Holiness of God. God is
holy, therefore He is separate from sin. But God also has a great distaste
for those who would pretend to be servants of God, and worse leaders in
Christianity that simply are not saved, and seek to pervert and contaminate
Christians with elements of sin, and fellowship with those living in open
sin, refusing to submit to God's will.

and practices are dealt with. The people mentioned on this page will link to
the same files as in 78 Movements and Groups,
but those mentioned here are specially treated in regard to the Separation
issue.
