Bo Giertz, a Lutheran (Swedish Confessional) theologian and author, is Bishop Emeritus of the diocese of Gothenburg, Sweden. An internationally respected clergyman, he has published several books (Hammer of God) and numerous articles on the subject of religious doctrine and Christian life. After the Swedish parliament's and Church Assembly's decision on the ordination of women in the Church of Sweden, Giertz became a leader of the opposition. Giertz advocated regular celebration of Mass on Sundays, and advocated and exhorted ministers to regular prayer.
