Objective: To search all your Topic Modules for a specific word or phrase. This is just not possible in a clean manner. If you use any e-Sword version before version 9, Craig White has a small utility called e-Sword FIn (Find In). You can download it from his site here: http://www.craigwhite.net/e-Sword/utilities.asp This is a screen capture of the utility at work.
Please see my e-Sword Find-In Utility help page for more information. The THEWORD Alternative There is another possibility that is a lot more work, but it is much better. There is a free Bible program that searches across all books and modules, called THEWORD. Costas Sterguiou has a conversion program for converting e-Sword modules to his program's format. I would recommend using THEWORD instead of e-Sword if you have "tons and tons of modules" that you want to find things in. After all, in a biblical resource reference library that is exactly the point, finding comments on a word or phrase that puzzles you but you cannot put your finger on where to locate more information about it. So THEWORD has this ability to search across all modules built in. It will search Commentaries, Dictionaries, and Book (TOPS) modules in one group, and search the Bible in the Bible window. Note that THEWORD does not use the MAP files (graphics files) as graphics are permitted within any of the modules (Commentaries, Dictionaries, or Books). Costas is working on a future feature for THEWORD which is a real map file format, and this type of file will have a map (a graphic) with clickable areas on the map taking you to a Bible dictionary, so you can click on a city or region and TW will take you to the corresponding section of another module (Bible dictionary probably). This summer (2009) I will be making a site similar to e-Sword for THEWORD.
