What is QDD? Quick and Dirty Download Pages Okay, so the side to the left give you a great listing of e-Sword modules with sometimes a lot of information about the files. BUT, you don't want that. You just want to download blindly no matter what it is, or you are so smart that you understand the abbreviations that people use for the modules (not possible because some people give you no clue as to what is what). Okay, so I invented the QDD, Quick and Dirty Download pages. These pages are just very simply a directory listing of a folder on my server. In these folders I copy my e-Sword modules. Just click and download. Only the titles are available. Go to it! If you forget how to get there in the future, it is this website URL, e-Swordmodules + "." + davidcox.com.mx +"." + "com.mx" + "/modules/" + the module extension, bbl, top, dct, map, etc. WARNINGS! Weird stuff, Incomplete stuff - Since these QDD directories are simple copies from my personal e-Sword folder, please note the following. I will try to not let it happen, but at times some of these files may be works in progress. (Check back if you download something that is incomplete.) At times you see weird things in these folders, such as delete.top. These are experimental modules that I cannot vouch for. Usually I name stuff "delete" because it is junk, and it means to delete it without worry that something important is in it. Usually when I work on a module, I finish before I leave it. It takes about 20 minutes or so. Very often I do not versify the module until later, so the tooltips will come usually before the final version. A raw top file with nothing in it is around 94k uncompressed. Files around this size are empty and being worked on. Don't complain that there is nothing in them if you download them! Also note that these files will change rather frequently. Some will be renamed and others will be deleted. This is my working folders for working on e-Sword. You get preview status by checking here, but you have to pay for it by sometimes getting the rug jerked out from under you (like a file I don't like and delete). A file renamed and moved to another folder. Sorry, check the other html pages in the sidebar to try and find the thing there. I usually put it in its listing or delete it altogether. If people complain about a file, it gets booted (deleted) without warning! Also note that sometimes the original file has underscores for spaces "_" which I usually replace with spaces. There may be Spanish files mixed in with English ones! There may be zipped files (usually the same filename, different extension "*.zip") mixed in also. Also note that according to the e-Sword license, you cannot host any e-Sword program files nor modules on your website. That being the case, all of Rick Meyer's modules should be and are deleted from my "working e-Sword folder" but since I often compare the two and copy in batch what is not on one to the other, I have a small problem of Rick's files getting re-installed on my "working folder." I will try to keep them off, but if you notice one, please advise me and I will delete it immediately. (You can still download it directly from e-Sword.net or from my module listing pages. (By the same token, I have a few files that I have made for myself from websites that from time to time get mixed up in these files. They will be deleted when I notice that they are out of place, i.e. shouldn't be there.) No Pretty Packaging If you want the pretty packaging (a.k.a. a Zip or Exe file that will extract it to your e-Sword folder with choices to do this and that), you are in the WRONG PLACE BUD! These are all top format files, uncompressed, unpackaged, and some may be 10+ megabytes large. Most top files are under 1 MB, and download at your own discretion. This QDD page will have the last date modified and the size so you can make some kind of decision about whether you want to download something large or not. I make no promises about download times (the quick in this is for me, I just dump the files in the folder, and the dirty is also for me, because I don't clean them up until I get around to it). If you want them in these conditions, then that is fine, otherwise wait until it shows up on the other pages here! Also note that until I get around to examining some of these modules, they may not have an author name in the title, just the work title. No Pretty HTML Interface Also note that this is a simple directory listing on my server of files. Go up on directory and you will go back "into the html system" with my opening website front page. Many of these files are not correctly or intelligently named (this is how I downloaded them). Also note that the directory structure is /modules/[bbl|cmt|dct|map|step|top]/[author]/filename.ext An author gets his own subfolder when I have 2-3 modules by him.
