Please note that I have added the copyright symbol © in the information I am providing. This is what I can discern for the copyright information for the original work. I will put the copyright date OF THE ORIGINAL WORK in the tooltip when I can find out this information. Just because a work is modern does not mean it is illegal to post in e-Sword format. People ask permission (I do) and have been granted permission (I have) from authors to republish and repost their works in e-Sword format. Many works have it explicit that it is permitted for non-commercial, non-lucrative uses, and others especially for church and ministry use.
EVERY SINGLE E-Sword module is under the creator's copyright, and you do not have their specific permission for anything. If the module is on the creator's website, or on a site like esnips.com or on eswordexchange.org which stores files for people, then probably you can assume that it is okay to download and use it. Do not assume that they are giving you use for anything else except personal, private, non-profit use.
Anything more than personal use you should write the creator and ask permission to modify his module or repost it.
Personally, I prefer my modules to be linked to and not reposted on other sites. If one day you cannot find my website (that it is down), then I would grant permission to repost to your website after you have (1) tried to contact me, (2) tried to google "davidcox" or "davidcoxmex", and come up empty.
What we do is for the glory of the Lord, but you should not overstep the creator's generosity and abuse things. It makes no difference to you to link or repost, so link. These files (at least mine) do get revisions and corrections. At times some things are posted that are still under copyright, and when the original copyright owner blasts the guy who ripped off his work, tensions are high. It is very difficult that the creator correct what he has done wrong if everybody on the net are reposting that file everywhere. If makes making amends impossible. Legally it could cause the module creator great problems and great financial loss if you repost without his permission (meaning he knows where it is reposted, and has an email and name to contact if there are later problems).
