Preliminary Considerations
This format basically needs to import using BEST. In cases of large
files, that would be the way to go. Frankly I never have gotten BeST
working so I do everything by hand. Make a blank DCT file. Basically
the best way to work on these files is with E-Sword MED (CraigWhite's
Utility). Open it and create a new database DCT type. Name it. Close
it. Open Access. Open the file. It will ask/advise you if you want
to open it because it is in a previous version of Access. Yes.
Two tables, Details, Dictionary.
Details Table fields - Description, Abbreviation, Comments
Description is the tooltip when you pass the cursor over the tab.
Abbreviation is what shows on the tab. If there are 2 databases with
the same abbrev, only one will show.
Comments - When the Dictionary Panel is active, Menu - Dictionary -
Information.
Dictionary Table Fields
3 fields
ID (Autonumber of the fields)
Topic - The key word that will be searched for in clicking on a work
somewhere else in e-Sword.
Definition - Actual definition.
Editing - E-Sword uses a subset of RTF coding (no images), but links
to Internet URLS.
Basic image editing is available.
